On Saturday, Sara and Zarah (both UVI) won the St Paul’s Girls’ School Women’s Open Debating competition, seeing off teams from Brighton College, St Swithun’s, Ibstock Place and Harris Westminster among others.

All three FHS teams were placed in the top half of the field and credit goes to Caterina (Year 11) who was 10th best speaker, despite this only being her second ever competition. During the course of the day, the girls debated motions including ‘This house would introduce 50% quotas for women in Parliament’ and ‘This house believes that the UK government should sacrifice the special relationship with the US to enable them to heavily criticise Trump’.

Well done to all those who entered! Congratulations!
