On Wednesday morning, Key Stage 2 girls were treated to an assembly led by Sir Peter Westmacott. Sir Peter is a senior British diplomat, who was British Ambassador to Turkey, then Ambassador to France and finally Ambassador to the United States. The girls learned about the importance of Democracy and the right to vote. They also heard about the fragile nature of Democracy using examples of current events across the globe. Despite a wide array of highly distinguished accolades, Sir Peter’s greatest accomplishments are his grandchildren; two of whom are in the Junior School – Soraya and Darya.
