Our girls played two matches on Thursday 16th January – the first was against Central Foundation Girls School who bat first.

Lots of very accurate bowling from our girls and a couple of great catches left the score 33 after 8 overs. Isabelle and Nini were first to bat for us, they were both not-out when we equaled 33 runs to win after only 5 overs.

Our second match, against St Mary Magdalene Academy had a very tight finish. We bat first and after losing 3 early wickets held we did well to score 57 runs against a very efficient fielding team – batters: Isabelle, Nini, Minty, Grace and Annika. Once again we had some great bowling – Nini especially taking a wicket as bowler. After 7 overs St Marys needed 12 from 6 to take the win, they put on a surge of energy and pulled off their best over of the day scoring the needed 12 off of 5 bowls and taking the win.

Our girls played two very strong innings and did enough in these group stages to qualify for the County Finals to be played next month – well done girls!
