On Tuesday 14th March, Francis Holland School, Sloane Square hosted a Creative Careers Evening as part of our Careers Week.

We were joined by students from both Francis Holland schools, as well as interested parents and siblings. The speakers included Zoe Souter from Condé Nast College of Fashion and Design; Penny Porter from F1 Recruitment, Consumer PR Advertising and Marketing; Wanda Petrusewicz, BBC Managing Editor, Ross Urien from The Mill and Ricardo Mateu of UHA Architects.

Each of our speakers imparted invaluable knowledge on their chosen career fields. Zoe Souter highlighted how lucky our students are to be digital natives, describing the need for digital skills in the world of luxury brands. She told girls the fashion industry needs team players and good communicators, not just those with creative skills. Zoe is what’s none as a Condé Nast ‘lifer’ (!) and is now Marketing Manager for their College of Fashion and Design. Penny Porter discussed how she began her career in the 80s in music and fashion PR, and how that has led her to the role she occupies today at F1 Recruitment.

Overall, the evening was a great success and we are very grateful to the speakers for coming in.
