On 1st April 2020, Director of Creative Enterprise, Mr Dyson launched the CoFight-19 campaign; a 19-day campaign offering expert advice for parents, support for pupils and innovative and creative activities for families.
Alongside experts from tutoring and mentoring company Ludowide, the campaign brought together the nations creative ideas to provide comfort and hope in a global health crisis. Each day for 19 days, creatives from an array of different industries provided valuable resources for parents and young people, ranging from sports challenges from Team GB athletes to musical activities.
A team of over 40 volunteers worked to provide the free, structured support for families during the pandemic. Artist, Jess Grant, offered uplifting and comforting paintings, helping us to bounce back and fight the fear surrounding the coronavirus. GB Hockey player, Sam Ward brought the fun to CoFight-19 each day with a different light-hearted challenge. Slam Poetry Champion, Harry Baker, created poetry challenges for us and England Cricketer Jos Buttler and his wife, Pilates teacher, Louise, brought us our very own Pilates class, inspiring us to exercise our bodies during lockdown.
The campaign attracted support from leaders in education, including state sector Heads, the GSA, Independent Schools Council and Schools Together.
