On Wednesday morning, we had a wonderful visit from the amazing Aurora, who told us her story about not only her journey around the world (in the Ocean Globe Race), but her journey as a person, and about finding who she really was. She told us stories of how she, and a crew of 7 other people, embarked on a tough route around the world taking 8 months, ploughing through choppy waters and making new friends. She persisted even through hard days, and even 90 mph winds were not going to stop her from achieving her dream. During Christmas day, she and her crew were stuck on the ocean, but she made light out of what could have been a dark day. We all found her story very inspiring because she showed everyone that you can achieve your goals if you are resilient and believe in yourself. Although her crew did not win the race, she learnt key life skills such as leadership, kindness and to never give up.
