Yesterday evening, we held a very special reception for members of our 1881 Circle, who have donated to our transformational bursary fund, the Promise Campaign, at the University Women’s Club, Mayfair.

As an institution that has championed women’s education since the 1800s, the venue could not have been more fitting for the evening. Guests enjoyed a drinks reception in the elegant drawing room, accompanied by wonderful performances by four of our talented sixth form musicians. They then made their way to the library, where our Director of Development, Tom Robertson, and Head, Alexandra Haydon, thanked our donors for their generous contributions which have allowed us to raise ÂŁ1.35 million for the Promise Campaign to date. As a result of this, we look forward to welcoming our first Foundation Scholar to FHS in September 2025.

We also enjoyed talks by two hugely impressive FHS alumnae and former bursary students; Blue, who is in her fourth year studying medicine at Imperial, and Diana, who is the CEO and Founder of Xatoms and was named Canada’s Youth Entrepreneur of the Year last year. Both young women described how their time at FHS was truly transformational and has been integral to their future success.

Thank you so much to all involved in making the evening such a success, and thank you to our donors for their boundless generosity in supporting an amazing cause.
