We believe development of these skills is not something that can be ‘tacked on’ in Sixth Form, as is the case in many schools, but must be an integrated part of every girl’s education throughout their time at school to prepare her for the real world.

Teachers enable progress in these key areas through opportunities for independent thought as well as team work in academic studies. Girls are encouraged to take an active role in initiating and leading student council meetings, co-curricular clubs, and charity fundraising events. Our enterprise groups, such as the design thinking in our Upper School Enrichment programme, are thriving. All girls take part in a series of successively more exciting and demanding expeditions and challenges during a week of trips at the end of the Summer term.

We work closely with our alumnae and other networks to secure speakers who give weekly talks about leadership, management, career paths, and preparation for life beyond FHS.
