Mrs Scheerer came in to school to discuss with the Year 6 girls her journey through the legal world to becoming a barrister. This was the second in a series of Parent Talks delivered to the class as part of their enrichment programme. Mrs Scheerer grew up in Ghana and came from a family of lawyers. The girls were truly inspired by her story of success, but shocked to hear when Mrs Scheerer relayed that the secret to her success was pure and simple ‘hard work’. As well as Law, Year 6 were thrilled to hear of Mrs Scheerer’s involvement in the Ghanian Olympic running team, her moment on the X Factor as a backing singer, and her work mentoring less privileged young people across London. An outstanding parent talk, reminding us how lucky we are at FHS to have such a wealth of experience amongst the parents.
