This month we welcomed Sabine Azancot, Group Strategy and Commercial Programs Director from Vodafone to lead our Careers Conversation.

Sabine spoke about her fascinating and varied career up this point and juggling the demands of working in management and leadership in large companies with family life and motherhood. Her talk was both inspiring and relevant to our girls who were gripped throughout. Sabine talked about her educational and career background, focusing on the her different moves across countries and industries, ranging from investment banking, consulting, telecoms and retail as well as various domains from consulting to corporate strategy to more operational roles. She emphasised the importance of resilience, in particular in sectors where there may still be some gender bias. She also spoke of the need to consider opportunities to move laterally and to reinvent oneself throughout one’s career as well as the importance of acquiring skillsets in digital industries such as software engineering. Her talk enlightened girls to the myriad opportunities in the STEM sector and the future of careers in Science Technology Engineering and Maths subjects.
