The SSPA constitutes the Francis Holland Sloane Square Parents’ Association.

Aims

  • To raise funds for the school as endorsed by the Head (this includes raising funds for capital works but not projects that relate directly to the educational curriculum). Funds may also be spent on pastoral care and extras.
  • To promote social activities for both parents and pupils. To organise events that support the enrichment and development of the whole Senior School community, involving parents, school staff and pupils and external pupils if appropriate.
  • To facilitate the communication process within the Senior School by providing an additional communication channel via the Form & Year Representative system.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the school with arranging networking events, the development of the bursary programme and establishing mentoring programmes. Working closely with the Senior School to arrange various career events including the annual careers fair.
  • To come up with ideas for and arranging fundraising events for charities. To consider other ways in which local charities can be supported (food banks, visiting the elderly in the community et al).
  • To come up with ideas for and arranging fundraising events for the Senior School. The SSPA will organise a minimum of one Senior School event every year to involve the Senior School.
  • Organising across year & class events as per the Class Representative role description. Organising other wider events including social events in conjunction with the school for the girls with boys.
  • Communicating updates from the committee meetings and any other relevant information as requested by the Senior School. Roll out and embedding the strategy for integrating Year 7 families into the school.
