On Tuesday 4th November, our Year 7 historians had an exciting trip to Battle Abbey in East Sussex. During their visit, they explored the historic site where the pivotal Battle of Hastings took place in 1066. In the visitors’ centre, the girls witnessed a thrilling reenactment of the battle, which brought the history to life in a captivating way.
The group also had the opportunity to explore the ruins of the monastery as well as the imposing gatehouse. They learned about the history of the abbey and its significance in British history. The trip was a fantastic way for the girls to engage with the past and deepen their understanding of the Norman Conquest. We are proud of our young historians for their enthusiasm and curiosity throughout the visit!
