There was a palpable buzz of excitement in the air as our Year 7 biologists set off to Port Lympne Animal Safari and Reserve on Monday.

Port Lympne runs a conservation and breeding programme where they breed endangered species and reintroduce them back to the wild! Students were introduced to over 65 endangered species in 3 specially curated habitats: Asia, Africa, and South America. The embarked on an intrepid truck safari through each habitat; getting fully immersed in each environment with the animals running wild. They then had two specialist talks by expert rangers on predator adaptations and classification of monkey species.

The girls had a wonderful insight into what it’s like to be part of the Animal world; the most memorable moment being delayed by half an hour due to an ostrich in our path…!
