This week, our Year 7 and Year 8 scholars were pleased to join their counterparts from Regent’s Park for the inaugural Joint Scholars’ Lunch. The event marked an important moment in the collaborative scholars’ programme, first launched in the autumn term at Regent’s Park. Since then, pupils from both schools have been working alongside their LVI mentors to develop an extended academic project, choosing either to write a scholarly essay or to create a thoughtfully designed artefact.
Over recent months, scholars have met regularly with their mentors to develop their ideas, undertake independent research, and refine their presentation skills. The range of topics explored was particularly impressive, with projects examining women in football, the influence of artists on their own work, and the nature versus nurture debate, among many others. Last week, all pupils presented their completed work to their year groups, demonstrating considerable intellectual curiosity, creativity and attention to detail.
At the Joint Scholars’ Lunch, a selection of these projects was presented to a wider audience, allowing pupils to share their findings and celebrate their achievements collectively. In addition, a full exhibition of every project was on display, enabling guests to appreciate the breadth and quality of work produced. We are very proud of our scholars and look forward to seeing what they achieve next.
