On Wednesday, Years 4 and 5 watched a presentation by Tim James, Co-Founder of Schoolblazer, the supplier of our school uniform, about sustainability and ethical trading.

Girls learnt about the company’s efforts to reduce the impact of the fashion industry on the environment by reducing waste and recycling materials which are then turned into fibres used to make clothing.

We were all (including teachers) quite shocked by the fact that on average any piece of clothing sold is worn only seven times (!) before ending up in landfill and we all left the presentation with a better understanding of the importance of reusing our clothes and being more environmentally conscious.
