Classicists from Years 10–13 hit the West End this week to watch Hadestown. Students saw the world of the Greek gods come to life through the tragic love story of Orpheus and Eurydice. The show was incredible, and I am sure we will all have “Wait for Me” stuck in our heads for the entire weekend.

Next week is Classics Week, and students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves further in the ancient world: Year 13 will stage Epic! on Monday; author Claire North (of the Songs of Penelope trilogy) will speak after school on Tuesday (open to all students in Year 10+); and on Thursday there will be a lunchtime talk entitled “Classical Narratives in Contemporary Art” by an external speaker. Hermes himself would be delighted!
