A group of Religious Studies students travelled to Krakow in March for a three day trip.

After a tour of Krakow, the students went to Auschwitz and glimpsed the horror of the Holocaust. The group visited the Galicia museum to meet a ‘Righteous Amongst the Nations’, the honorific title given by the State of Israel to those who helped to save Jews from the Nazis. They also met a woman who, with her sister and mother, bravely hid a young Jewish girl until the end of the war. Hopefully the trip will continue to inspire all of its members to work for a world where kindness, generosity of spirit, and tolerance are the hallmarks of what it means to be a global citizen.
