During our Year 7 and 8 TIPS Week (Thinking Innovatively and Problem-Solving), which took place the week before Half Term, renowned artist and FHS parent Jodie Glen Martin ran a “Posh Graffiti” workshop, where girls created and painted vibrant stencil letters on canvas.

Little did we know, however, that each letter had a specific purpose: to spell out a combination of some of Headmistress Mrs Elphinstone’s many iconic and inspirational catchphrases!

On Tuesday morning, the selection of letters was erected (under the expert art direction of Ms Glen-Martin) in an installation in the Staff section of the Dining Hall, spelling out “Fearless Girls Do It Scared” and “Game Changers Of Tomorrow”.

Our Year 8 artists led a baffled and blind-folded Mrs Elphinstone to the Dining Hall at morning break, where the installation was presented to her as a surprise! She was absolutely thrilled, and the installation will be kept in place to commemorate her 11 years of incredible Headship in years to come.

Thank you so much to Ms Glen-Martin and our Year 8 artists for such a creative, meaningful and beautifully executed initiative.
