The Spring Term came to a glorious crescendo last night with a spectacular Spring Concert at the stunning Holy Trinity Church on Sloane Street.

Following the Fanny Davies Music Festival earlier this week, the Concert featured vocal, string and piano performances from all our winners; Alexa MacLaren, Teresa De Oliveira Munoz De La Espada, Hannah Davis, Eloise Burkey, Paloma Fleury, Inga de Vegvar, Tess Vogels and Ava Foy. Alexa MacLaren, the overall winner, played a particularly integral part in the Concert, with breath-taking piano and violin pieces which received standing ovations from the audience. Our Lower Chamber Choir, Senior Chamber, Senior Strings Group and Senior Orchestra also delivered excellent performances.

In the second half, the FHS Musical Community truly came together, with all of our student performers, Music Department members, visiting musicians, the Staff and Parent Choir and other talented parent musicians, conducted by Miss Vickery, giving an incredible performance of John Rutter’s Magnificat. This was punctuated by fantastic solo vocal performances by Sixth Form students Francesca Elliot, Sophie Irving, Lily Leaver, Mariasole Stewen and Grace Stuart.

Headmistress Lucy Elphinstone, who was one of the many singers in the Magnificat, praised the Music Department and all our performers and named the Concert irrefutably the best FHS has ever performed at Holy Trinity Church.

Thank you so much to our Music Department and particularly Miss Vickery, Mr Mercer, Mrs Floyd, Miss Houlder, Miss Gajic-Murata and our visiting music teachers, particularly Miss Smith, for again working tirelessly to produce an unforgettable Concert. What a way to end a wonderful term and bring in the Easter break.
