This week, we welcomed Dr Jess Wade, a British physicist, materials scientist, author, and advocate for diversity in science.
She is best known for her work in developing materials for organic light-emitting diodes and for her efforts to increase the visibility of women and underrepresented groups in STEM. She has written over two thousand Wikipedia articles to highlight the achievements of female scientists.
It was really important for us to be reminded of marginalised figures in STEM who have contributed to our world’s development, as well as recognising the importance of art and imaginative thinking have in the field of sciences.
