During this week’s speaker programme, coming straight from her lab, we were thrilled to introduce Dr. Bahijja Raimi-Abraham. She is an expert pharmacist and a Kings College lecturer.

Her talk was highly compelling, as she showed a tremendous amount of passion in her remarkable scientific discoveries and chemistry-related work. Dr. Raimi-Abraham is keen to solve pharmaceutical challenges, primarily through founding “Fight the Fakes,” an organisation committed to raising the awareness of falsified medicines. She spoke about how she realised there is so much creativity within science. Dr. Raimi-Abraham’s own creativity was illustrated by her setting a street art mural dedicated to pharmaceuticals, and while also hosting an informative and engaging podcast called “Monday Science”. The podcast brings the latest news in science and technology every week.

The talk ended with an array of questions from eager students, and she was more than delighted to guide and enlighten those interested in a STEM-related future.
