On Thursday 12th November, Sixth Form pupils welcomed award-winning photojournalist, Rick Findler for a virtual Sixth Form lecture.

Rich has travelled internationally during his career and covered terrible atrocities across a number of war zones. He recently travelled to Beirut, 39 hours after the explosion in August 2019 that destroyed large parts of the city, and has also travelled to Hong Kong, Syria, Libya and Somalia to name a few. With his work regularly featuring in prominent publications such as the Guardian, the Times and the Telegraph, Rick captures events around the world through the lens, acting as a silent witness to military and political turmoil. Rick has won a number of significant awards for his work, including the People’s Choice award in the documentary category of the British Photography Awards 2020, for his work on the Hong Kong protests.

A huge thank you to Rick for speaking to us about his fascinating career and experiences. The Sixth Form pupils were left in awe of his resilience and courage. Following the talk, there was an incredible buzz amongst the pupils, who continued to discuss his achievements and adventures around the world.
