November’s Tea Group took us to The Courtauld Gallery in the Strand, where the group was impressed by the building as much as the artwork hanging on the walls. This compact museum houses Monet’s Antibes, a Van Gogh self-portrait, Cézanne’s Montagne Sainte-Victoire, as well as works by Van Dyck, Goya and Quentin Massys. Our outing was crowned by a splendid tea at The Delaunay Counter, where hot chocolate, scones and Viennese-style Apfelstrudel were most welcome at the end of a busy week.
