On Friday 24th May, our girls participated in the annual Senior School Sports Day at Battersea Park.
It was a riot of colour at the Millennium Arena, with pupils enthusiastically cheering on their respective houses from the stands. Our girls competed in a variety of track and field events, including shot put, discus, long jump, high jump, javelin, hurdles and relay, with many coming away with winner’s ribbons.
Several school records were broken on the day. Special recognition must go to Grace, Carolina and Minty (Year 7); Lina (Year 8); Palmer and Josephine (Year 9); and Livvy and Katie (Year 10). The complete list can be viewed here.
One of the highlights of the day was the annual staff vs inter-year student relay. It was a close call, but unfortunately the girls were not quite fast enough to beat the staff team to the finish line. This was followed by a Year 12 100m sprint, a mothers’ race and a fathers’ race.
In addition, Mr Bartram and Miss Arlington ran a cake sale and face painting stall, raising a whopping £410. All proceeds will go to help LCAT, a Grenfell therapy group.
Congratulations to Woolf for winning this year’s event.
