Monday 14th November saw the return of a yearly favourite in our parents’ calendars: the Senior School Quiz Night! This was a fabulous occasion for our FHS community to gather for an evening of quizzical merriment, whilst continuing our continued fundraising efforts for the Katherine Low Settlement in Battersea and Mvumi School in Tanzania.
With the Senior Hall adorned with knowledge-themed decor (board games, maps, cards and piles of books) and quiz tables named after pioneering women, guests arrived and gathered in their teams for a delicious Mexican-themed dinner: brain fuel for the difficult questions ahead.
The atmosphere turned from jovial to lightly competitive as the quiz got underway, compĆØred by our very own FHS quizmaster, Mr Neil Fox. Ten tables of parents and one table of enthusiastic FHS teaching staff went head-to-head in a quiz which put even the sharpest of minds to the test, with rounds ranging from subject-specific questions, to an energetic true-or-false round based on facts about FHS. The metaphorical quiz trophy was hotly fought for, but in the end the teachers’ team came out on top. Eggheads, eat your heart out!
A wonderful evening was had by all, and the event raised over Ā£5,000 for the Katherine Low Settlement and Ā£1,000 for Mvumi School. Thank you so much to all of our parents who attended, and we’re already looking forward to the next!
