The girls in Reception have been finding out all about animal life cycles and this half term they have been looking after some very special guests in their classroom to help them with their learning. A few weeks ago, thirty tiny painted lady caterpillars arrived, very hungry and eager to grow. The girls have watched on in awe and wonder as the caterpillars have transformed through the different stages of their metamorphosis and there was much excitement when the time came to release some of the beautiful butterflies into the sunshine this morning. One or two of the more curious insects even took at moment to perch on a hand before taking first flight.
