On Wednesday 12th November the Headmistress, Mrs Lucy Elphinstone, delivered the annual Old Girls’ Lecture.
Her talk, entitled ‘Hope and Hardship’, focused on her recent trip to the Uganda this summer.
Mrs Elphinstone spoke passionately about the potential for change through education and how her trip highlighted the challenges ahead for girls and women in the country. She also underlined Francis Holland’s commitment to supporting the King of King’s School and to sponsoring students as well as specific projects in the coming years.
Donations were also collected for the King of King’s school and half the proceeds from the lecture was also donated by the Old Girls’ Society.
