Indie rock hit the stage on Thursday night with some incredible performances from students and staff alike, all in support of Mvumi School, Tanzania. First on stage were the budding rock stars, Mika and Vivi with their incredible rendition of ‘Kiss Me’. This was followed by a fantastic performance by Antonia of Queen and the “Sixth Form Band” did an super set of The Cure’s ‘Just Like Heaven’ and the ever popular ‘Hey Jude’.
Mika in UVI, who visited Mvumi School last year, spoke brilliantly about the impact donations can have on the education of young people in rural Tanzania. If you would like to donate to support this amazing cause, please do so using this link.
Finally, it was time for our very own Britpop legends Oheysis to take the stage. Tunes with attitude! You can take the teacher out of Manchester, but you can’t take Manchester out of the teacher!
We hope all those who attended had a great time!
Dr Upcott, Head of Exploration and Challenge, and Mr Galloway, Head of Outreach
