On the 20th January, a team of eleven FHS students went to St Paul’s Boys School for the Model United Nations (MUN) debates and conference. A multitude of schools participated, and we were meticulously assigned to our respective committees, which among others, included the Economic and Finance committee, the Security Council, the Environment Assembly, and the Disarmament and International Security. The representatives from FHS exclusively represented either Saudi Arabia or Japan and had spent a lot of time in MUN club in school in the preceding weeks preparing for this event. During the morning session, we diligently engaged in committee work, collaboratively crafting resolutions with representatives from a diverse range of nations. Subsequently, a general crisis debate unfolded. Our collective efforts culminated in a triumphant outcome, as one of our delegates received recognition as a highly commended representative. Overall, the day proved to be both successful and delightful, as we returned home with the satisfaction of our achievements in this intellectually stimulating forum. We hope to be back again!
