Francis Holland, Sloane Square jointly hosted an informative and engaging event to share our experiences of introducing Mindfulness to the school.

The event was aimed at local schools and over 42 teachers attended the evening from a variety of state and independent sectors. The Mindfulness in Schools Project talked through the concept of Mindfulness and the evidence base that surrounds its use in education. Gillian Hammond, the coordinator of Mindfulness in the school, spoke about the experiences of teaching Mindfulness and girls from Year 6, Year 7 and Year 12 spoke eloquently about how Mindfulness has been useful for them. The Headmistress, Lucy Elphinstone, spoke passionately about the school’s commitment to the well-being of our students and the need for young women to soak up these invaluable skills so they can to thrive in our modern society.

There was a positive response to the evening and if was a time to feel grateful that we, here at Francis Holland, can share our journey of using this beneficial art of Mindfulness that may help so many young people.
