We were privileged to have a talk from Jason Gordon of Deloitte who spoke to our Year 11 students, many of our sixth form and others about his work with the McLaren Formula 1 Team. He gave us a detailed and fascinating insight into the engineering, development, data collection and decision making that goes on at McLaren. The talk interspersed technological and system breakthroughs with F1 footage, able to explain live decisions that had to be made on race day and the huge importance of the team back at the McLaren (compared to the driver!). The students were enthralled to hear this thoroughly engaging speaker and quite a few now have a real desire to try to follow a route into F1 world.
