The Lower Chamber Choir, consisting of our auditioned Year 7 and 8 choristers, were delighted to have been invited by the NSPCC Charity to perform at Childline’s Merry Little Christmas Concert at Cadogan Hall. The students have been working so hard and it was a joy to see them on the stage of the prestigious venue on Monday this week. We were delighted to meet and perform to many wonderful people within Childline, including Andrea McLean, a #1 Sunday Times best-selling author, who hosted the evening and commented on the wonderful sound of our choir.

Mr Mercer and Miss Vickery, who accompanied the girls on Monday, are so proud of the girls and how they conducted themselves at such a prestigious event!

The last word goes to Peter Wanless, the Chief Executive of NSPCC:

I wanted to say a big thank you for the amazing support and time you and the Francis Holland Junior school choir have given to Childline by performing our opening song at Merry Little Christmas last night. Please do pass on my thanks to the members of choir and their families as well.

It was wonderful to hear your choir performance on stage at the beautiful Cadogan Hall. We were delighted to have you there as part of the evening which was truly something special.

On average, a child contacts Childline every 45 seconds, and whatever they contact us about, the help that Childline gives to children who need a listening ear, gives them hope, because they know we care about them.

On behalf of all the children you will help, a huge, thank you. Without such a brilliant line-up of readers and performers, the event would not have been possible.

Thank you for all you have done for children. And from all of us at the NSPCC, we’d like to wish you and the choir a very Merry Christmas.
