Do your daughters ever fail to impress? Despite watching the artwork come to life over the course of last week, nothing could quite have prepared me for the end result. What an exhibition in such a perfect venue. It showcased the girls’ work beautifully and really proved that “every child is an artist” (Picasso). The spectacular giant insects sat majestically in this glorious space. Every display area of felted flowers; collages of delightful daffodils; or beautiful combinations of watercolour and embroidery, added to the overall effect of beauty created. Yet the inspiration of natural beauty was brilliantly honoured; honoured even further by having our exhibition alongside the ‘Highgrove in Harmony’ exhibition which also venerated nature. In fact, the two exhibitions so complemented each other that I began to regret not having offered King Charles an invitation to view – I think he would have loved it! Thank you all for supporting the exhibition so wholeheartedly. I am sure that many of you delayed the start of your weekend to be there, but what better way to begin a bank holiday.

Many of the daffodils will be on display again at the Marie Curie Royal Academy Summer Exhibition special evening event on 12th July. Please do book your tickets directly from Marie Curie if you would like to be there too.
