This week saw the annual Inter-House Drama Festival take place. This is always such a joyous event in the last week of term where girls in years 7-9 demonstrate creativity, confidence, and collaboration. This year, the girls and the Drama Department were fortunate enough to be joined by external judge, Faith Omole. Faith is a professional theatre and screen actress, and her presence at the event was most exciting for our budding pupil actresses! The competition involves the girls taking an existing script and adapting and editing it for the number of people that are in their group from their house. This is often a difficult task in itself, and girls must work as an ensemble to collectively take on the roles of directors, designers, stage managers and actors. It was wonderful to see how creative girls had been with their handmade costumes and expertly applied theatrical make-up! We saw a huge array of characters in a variety of styles and genres, and it was fabulous to see girls perform with such stage presence and gusto. Each and every participant should feel proud of their performance whether they were a finalist or not.  This year the standard was exceptionally high and the decision really was incredibly difficult. The winning group from each year group is:

Year 9 – Fonteyn
Romina Fallahdar
Mia Cosham

Year 8 – Fonteyn
Estelle El Zaouk
Emily Walsh
Emily Sottomayor
Yasmin Aldiyar
Siyona Munjal
Clara Gutierrez-Laperche

Year 7 – Woolf
Eden Alberti
Melissa Ettedgui
Mia Ethimiou
Sacha Zalouf

Special mention must go to the award for Best overall actress which was won by Eva Karppi in Year 7 for Franklin house. Well done
