On Wednesday, Year 2 transformed into maids, suffragettes, queens, and Victorian school children for a very eventful History Day. We started the day in a Victorian classroom writing letters home on tea-stained paper, and the girls wrote many a (fictional!) sob story about wearing the dunce hat and being caned for misbehaving. After break, we made our own cup and ball Victorian toys followed by writing proposals to Queen Victoria about equal rights for women. There was a lot of girl power in the room! All of the class successfully graduated as Victorians and the girls were presented with a much-deserved medal.
