The Francis Holland Foresters christened their brand new site, Norbury Park, on Wednesday morning.

Years 4, 5 & 6 basked in the Surrey sunshine amidst a day of Bushcraft activities followed by outdoor learning linked to their curricula.  The girls were tasked with creating intricate spider webs using different types of knots, rope and string.  After making their different designs, the girls then had to climb through the web without touching the ‘poisonous’ sides.  Groups used collaboration, team bonding, leadership skills and problem solving in order to complete their tricky challenge.  There were some interesting tactics with smaller girls being carried and passed through the web by taller members of the team!

The Foresters ended their day with hot chocolates and toasted marshmallows by the camp fire.  An excellent, albeit exhausting, adventure to our brand new Forest School site.  The girls are already excited about the next trip after half term.
