The FHQ (Francis Holland Questions) podcast features Peter Higgins this week. Peter is the co-founder of Charles Tyrwhitt Shirts, leading multi-channel shirt retailer, Chairman of ME+EM, former Chairman of Cath Kidston, and Director/Trustee of Mary’s Meals, one of our chosen school charities. Did you know that it costs just £15.90 to feed a child for a whole school year? Mary’s Meals provides ‘life-changing meals to some of the world’s poorest children every school day’. Named after Mary, the mother of Jesus, the charity aims to provide one good meal in a place of learning, enabling children to be drawn into the classroom where they can receive an education that could one day free them from poverty.

Peter talks to us about the future of the high street, the importance of developing skills in enterprise and reflects on the challenges and opportunities presented by the pandemic.

Next week, we are joined by Lily and Grace (LVI) who will be talking about their online art exhibition which is being run in conjunction with our Sixth Form Feminist Society, Intersection.

In other news, pupils in Years 9-11 enjoyed the fourth Bluebox Academy session of their Basics of Business course. Joined by inspiration owner of Lucy’s Dressings, Lucy Mackenzie, pupils learned how to raise capital for their early stage businesses. Lucy kindly offered to join our business mentoring team and we very much look forward to working with her in the future.
