Our pupils completing their Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards recently set off on their practice expeditions.
Fifty-one Year 9 girls and nineteen Year 10 girls braved the stormy wind, hail and rain to complete their practice expeditions. The challenging conditions were truly horrendous with the girls having to pitch their tents on a virtual bog which made for a cold and wet night, but they showed tremendous resilience and cheerfulness, and proved to themselves that they could overcome adversity and challenge.
A huge thank you to the teachers who accompanied the girls on their expedition and to the Westminster DofE leaders who taught the girls some fantastic life skills. A special mention must go to Miss Caister who planned the trips and has supported the girls throughout their Duke of Edinburgh experience. Well done girls!
