Not only was Thursday 14th December our last day before Christmas, it was also a festive Mufti Day!

We began the morning with assembly, which included a rendition of A Christmas Carol, fantastic performances by the Jazz Band and festive debating. Six experienced debaters debated the motion: ‘this house is dreaming of a summer Christmas.’ Serious intellectual, humorous, and pointed arguments were made on each side. At the end of the day, the proposition won the motion, and FHS is seemingly dreaming of a summer Christmas.

We then filled the playround for the Inter-House Chant Competition. Complete with themed costumes, each House took it in turns to perform FHS-themed songs and chants. This year we even had gymnastics!

Through our Carol Service, Playground Busking and Mufti Day, the school raised over £2000 for charity in just over 24 hours – what a wonderful way to round off the term. Merry Christmas, FHS!
