On Monday 9th May, Laura Comfort came in to talk to us about her career and education, which has included studying at Harvard, financial journalism, completing a Masters at LSE and turning her passion for music into a career.
Laura began by speaking about her time at school and, subsequently, Harvard. From a young age she excelled in sports, particularly running, as well as music, and Laura emphasised the importance in pursuing your passions as well as your studies.
After graduating, Laura began work in the incredibly fast paced world of financial journalism, before turning her attention to music. Having studied and worked in both the U.S. and the U.K., Laura’s advice was incredibly insightful and useful in highlighting to the girls the differences between the two countries in terms of Higher Education and the working world. She also discussed the lessons she has learnt throughout this time, and the ways in which she can apply these to each new challenge.
Overall, it was an incredibly inspiring talk, with fascinating first hand insights into a huge variety of possible career and Higher Education options.
