Always a very special occasion in the FHS musical calendar, this year’s Autumn Concert was even more so as it was held for the first time at the exquisite Garrison Chapel in Chelsea Barracks.

Guests were mesmerised by the talent of our performers from start to finish, with highlights including a Cello Solo by Teresa De Oliveira Munoz De La Espada, a Barbershop Ensemble performance of We’ll Meet Again – arr. Nicholas Hare and an incredibly talented Scholars’ Trio performance of Pastorale from Trio for Flute, Viola and Harp by Debussy.

We also witnessed the vocal talent of not just one, but three pairs of sisters: the Hamlyns, the Gironis and the Fleurys, all of whom performed beautifully sung duets.

Mrs Elphinstone concluded the evening with a poignant speech about the unique power of music to inspire hope and optimism and change people’s lives.

Thank you to our enthusiastic audience, our talented and dedicated performers and most of all to Miss Vickery, Mr Mercer, Miss Gajic Murata, Mr Page and our Operations, Catering and Facilities Departments for putting together such a spectacular event. It was so wonderful to enjoy the breathtaking musical talent of our pupils all the way from Year 7 to the Upper Sixth (and, of course, the Staff Choir!) in such a stunning venue.
