Class of 2019 alumna, Caroline Swenson returned to FHS today to speak to Sixth Form pupils about US Universities. Now a third-year Physics undergraduate at University of Notre Dame, Indiana, Caroline returned to London during the current US Spring Break. Caroline spoke at length to the Sixth Form about her college experience at Notre Dame and gave some undoubtedly invaluable advice about the application process to universities in the US.

A student at FHS from Year 10, Caroline left in the Upper Sixth after completing her Physics, Biology and English A Levels. She engaged pupils with her stories and some unforgettable experiences gained while studying in both countries, highlighting the major differences while emphasising the benefits that FHS brought to her (most significantly essay-writing!).

Caroline featured in the 2021 edition of the Old Girls’ Newsletter where the production of her space podcast, ‘Prepare to Launch’ was published as a news story. The podcast, managed by Caroline, appealed to its target audience of university STEM students while aiming to highlight the approachability of a career in the space sector by showcasing different routes into the industry. Caroline has also written job portfolios and articles about the space industry, news and jobs for SpaceCareers.uk.

With grateful thanks to Caroline for inspiring our sixth form pupils about life as a student in the US, as well as talking them through the application process.
