At the end of the Summer Term, Year 7 had the privilege of watching some excellent actors from the Globe Players perform extracts from various Shakespeare plays. The actors embodied characters from Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, ‘Macbeth’ and ‘The Tempest’. Their performance was interactive and educational, as they told us about the life of Shakespeare before he became a playwright as well as his experience in Elizabethan and Jacobean theatre. Year 7 particularly loved the performance of ‘Macbeth’, as we had just finished our in-depth study of this complicated tragedy. We all owe a huge thank you both to the wonderful actors and the English teachers who organised this enrichment activity for us.
