Year 2
Our project outcomes were on women explorers. It went really well, and the parents seemed to love all of our amazing work! I particularly liked it when I got to explain my work to different people. After we had shown the parents our work, we were allowed to walk around and see everyone else’s work which was fun. I really liked answering quiz questions about the explorers, especially as I got to eat a few sweets when my mum wasn’t looking!

Year 3
Year 3 took us on a journey under the sea for their project outcome this week. The girls worked incredibly hard to produce fact files about their chosen sea creatures, layers of the ocean informative art, save our seas posters, a poem entitled “Is Plastic Fantastic?” and so much more! The effort that the girls made was evident in the wonderful work that they created, and it was such a joy to see them proudly showing their projects to parents, peers and teachers. Well done Year 3!

Year 4
On Wednesday 5th July, Year 4 had the chance to share the work that they had been busy with for the last term at their project outcome. This year’s theme was ‘Endangered Species’. All the girls did an amazing job with thorough research about the animal of their choice; learning all about the appearance, behaviour, habitat and potential threats. They wrote an informational text and a poem, they used their creative skills in art to produce wonderful drawings, each special and unique. They also prepared their very first PowerPoint presentation and made habitat boxes, some of which took an immense amount of time and effort, not to mention much artistic skill.

Year 5
This term Year 5 have taken part in the Architecture in Schools Project. As part of this, each girl created a portfolio of work to showcase the different aspects of the project. This included write-ups of the trips we have been on; a fact file about Haworth Tompkins, our linked architecture firm; an annotated picture of our final model; and sketches of the design and idea process. The girls enjoyed showing their final projects to their parents and many have been inspired to pursue a career in architecture.

Year 6
The girls final project outcome was a culmination of brilliant work produced in their last few weeks as part of the Junior School. The title of the project was ‘Around the World in 23 Boards’. The girls used knowledge from their ‘Map of The Modern World’ curriculum content to then showcase a series of excellent pieces which were on display in the Junior Hall. Each girl posed as a representative from the board of tourism of a chosen country. All of the class had a connection to their respective country through nationality, favourite holiday destination, language or pure desire to visit the far away land! The objective of the project was to entice potential visitors to their countries. Showcased work included: detailed maps of specific region and country, persuasive letters for why tourists should visit, historical timelines with significant events, geographical models of significant human and natural features, topical news issues and current affairs, detailed description of culture and traditions, photographs, postcards, local delicacies and finally vintage travel posters. Girls produced outstanding final pieces which were seen as one of the best project outcomes the Junior School has held. An outstanding effort from the Year 6 girls for which they can be very proud of.
