Today we were so excited to be able to once again celebrate the most special of days in person…
Our Junior and Senior School pupils gathered in the playground with beautifully intricate hair styles adorned with our School birthday flower, daffodils, as is tradition. Pupils and staff made their way to St Columba’s Church, where they were treated to a church service celebrating the rich history of our glorious school, featuring moving and poignant readings from the Headmistress and Head Girls as well as magnificent music performances and, of course, the School Anthem belted out by all!
On their return to School, girls enjoyed delicious cupcakes prepared by our brilliant catering team and witnessed the cutting of the cake by Mrs Elphinstone.
Next came three forms of unforgettable entertainment: Mr Lolly for Reception to Year 2, Comedy Club for Kids for Year 3-6 and, last but certainly not least, Rockaoke in the Senior Hall for the Senior School.
Our very youngest girls loved Mr Lolly’s interactive music workshop, while the giggles of the older Junior girls in response to Comedy Club could be heard throughout School.
Rockaoke in the Senior Hall was similarly popular; with a selection of absolute bangers including Mrs Elphinstone’s rendition of The Winner Takes It All and Dr Upcott and Mr Trussell’s performance of Wonderwall, accompanied by an epic rock band including many talented members of our music department and our very own Mr Galloway, sending the crowd wild!
Girls and staff alike will now be leaving School at lunchtime in true FHS spirit. A glorious half day, universally enjoyed by all!
