Sport Challenges
Every week, the girls (and staff!) are set challenges.

Staff and students will go head-to-head in a race around the world. It would take you approximately 40,075 km to walk/ run around earth. For this challenge, each participant can do as many runs/ walks as they wish but must ensure to submit their evidence on a weekly basis via this form. This will enable us to keep track on the distance covered by each team. Evidence of the run/ walk must be in photographic form and clearly show a record of the run and the distance covered. You can submit several photographs for each run/ walk completed.
This week we are getting ready for Tokyo 2020 and recreating KJT’S virtual heptathlon.
This week we move our focus to speed and mobility. Have a go at both challenges in the video.

Challenge 1 – Musical Netball
Set by Miss Allen, this first challenge brings together two of my favourite sports – netball and dance:Â Click on the link and give it a go yourselves!
Challenge 2 – FHS Street Signs Walk Challenge
Set by Miss Caister, As Head of Duke of Edinburgh at FHS. I love getting outside and planning walking routes. My challenge gets you outside and hopefully highlight the importance of enjoying the outdoors and nature.Â
For this challenge you must spell out a word to do with FHS using the first letters of street signs!

Top Tip: Plan your word and the route before heading out!!
This is a personal favourite of Miss Beaumont, who loves to perform this challenge with her netball teams. This challenge will certainly test your muscular endurance and mental resilience and will possibly be the toughest 3 and half minutes of your life.
Miss Beaumont has chosen to perform a squat, but you may wish to choose any exercise and perform up and down movements for the duration of the song. Another example would be a plank, burpees, lunge or press up ( hardest). Bonus points are available for those who come up with creative movements for the song.
You can access the challenge via this link.Â
This challenge, set by Ms Holley, helps to exercise your mind as well as your body.
Give it a go and let’s see how good your memory is!

Step 1: Choose a song of your choice
Step 2: Create a dance routine to it in PLANK position!
Step 3: Watch Miss Newsome’s example for inspiration.
Step 4: Give it a go! Step
