SPORT
Sport in the Sixth Form is inclusive, flexible and aspirational, enabling every student to participate, progress and excel.
SIXTH FORM SPORT
Sport in the Sixth Form encourages both participation and high performance. Our programme promotes independence, leadership and teamwork, offering students both the chance to represent the school against leading London schools and to stay active and energised throughout the week. Alongside their academic studies, students develop confidence, resilience and a enduring commitment to health and wellbeing, whether competing at an elite level or enjoying sport for lifelong fitness.
CURRICULUM AND COMPETITIVE SPORT
Students in the Sixth Form participate in a weekly games afternoon with a variety of sports on offer including boxing, strength training, judo, gym, Pilates and spinning. Competitive sport remains a strong feature, with regular fixtures throughout the year. The focus of the Autumn Term is netball, the Spring Term is netball and hockey and the Summer Term is cricket, athletics and tennis. Swimming takes place all year-round, with a weekly early-morning session. Students are supported to balance training with academic commitments while continuing to compete, develop skills and enjoy sport at a high level.
CO-CURRICULAR OPPORTUNITIES
Sixth Form students benefit from an extensive co-curricular sports programme, with training available before school, at lunchtimes and after school. Activities cater to a wide range of interests and abilities, enabling students to maintain fitness, try something new or commit to regular squad training. Options include athletics, basketball, cricket, cross country, dance, football, kick boxing, netball, rowing, running, sailing, swimming, table tennis, tennis, Pilates and yoga. A dedicated Year 11–13 running club takes place weekly, encouraging fitness and wellbeing beyond the school site. This varied programme ensures every Sixth Former can find a sport that suits their lifestyle.
FACILITIES AND LOCATIONS
Sixth Form students enjoy excellent on-site and off-site facilities. On campus, they have exclusive access to a state-of-the-art Fitness Suite equipped with Technogym equipment, alongside a large gymnasium, netball court and specialist dance studio. Outdoor sports take place at Battersea Park, just six minutes away, offering floodlit pitches, an athletics track, tennis and netball courts, and the Millennium Arena for major events. Swimming sessions are held at the Queen Mother Sports Centre. Our central London location gives the girls access to additional external venues such as KXU for spinning and yoga, and Vita for Reformer Pilates.
