PASTORAL & WELLBEING
Feeling that you belong and matter is essential, helping you move forward with happiness, confidence, readiness and a clear sense of purpose.
SUPPORTING YOU TO THRIVE
The last two years of school are crucial: our Sixth Form Pastoral team and your tutors are here for you every step of the way, setting you up for your world beyond school.
Cornerstone is our pastoral hub where you can pause, reflect and reset. It is always where you will find our Senior Deputy Head Pastoral, ContemPlace counselling service, Chaplain, Wellbeing team and Kanga, our lovely therapy dog.
You will be able to discuss your academic progress during twice daily check-ins with your Sixth Form Tutor. The tutor team is led by a Head of Sixth Form and two Heads of Years who are brilliantly supported by the Sixth Form Manager (aka the Fairy Godmother); they are all available to help.
ON HAND FOR ADVICE
Have a question or concern about study pressures, stress, mental health challenges, anxiety or a personal matter?
No issue is ever too minor for our wonderful six-person counselling team, ContemPlace, especially during demanding times such as exam sessions. You are equally welcome to drop-in for a chat or ask for 1:1 support.
PREPARING YOU FOR LIFE, NOT JUST EXAMS
A one-hour Wellbeing lesson on Wednesday mornings addresses age-appropriate topics. These are regularly updated.
Our Wellbeing programme includes Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE), Relationship and Sexual Health Education (RSE) and getting ready for life beyond school. Lessons are given by form tutors, with specialist staff and external speakers contributing on areas of expertise.
