The Francis Holland, Sloane Square, Young Enterprise Companies are going from strength to strength.

On a freezing Saturday last weekend, they stood their ground and sold almost £500 worth of goods at Portobello Road Market – much more than any of the established traders in the stalls surrounding them. Since then, both companies have competed in the Central North London Competition on Monday against thirteen other teams from a variety of schools. Competition was stiff: many good ideas had been turned into viable business plans. However, both our companies won runner-up awards and will move on to the next stage. This is where they will compete against other runner-ups and winners of similar regional final competitions in the ‘Central London Final’.

Genii, Year 12, sell an amazing range of waterproof bluetooth speakers, including several to the judges of the competition! These have been extremely popular. Haku’s, Year 10, USP is their special, environmentally friendly product: pure cotton tie-dyed pencil and make-up cases, each of which is entirely unique, and scented candles they have made themselves from recycled wax. Both companies impressed us by giving polished presentations to a huge audience, detailing their success so far.

We wish them well at the next stage of the competition on 28th April.
