To celebrate the end of their first year of learning German, the Y9 German students went to dine at Kipferl in Golborne Road.
It is a small and very friendly restaurant that specialises in delicious, authentic German and Austrian cuisine. Some of us tried Almdudler, the herbal lemonade from Austria many recognize from ski trips. Most chose the Wiener Schnitzel, of course, and some opted for Spinatknödel, Käsespätzle or Berner Würstel. For pudding we had Sacher Torte, Gugelhupf or Apfelstrudel.
As you can see, short of going to the Alps for a holiday, this was as authentic an immersion in German culture as one could hope for right here in London.
